Ipsen - Social Distancing 6K Race Description
We invite you to join our Social Distancing 6K as a way to help promote social distancing, as well as help others in great need right now. Many of us are doing our best to stay home, keep a proper social distance and do what we can to keep ourselves, and so many others, protected against this ugly virus. We are all in this together…but six feet apart! So lace up those shoes, keep six feet away from everyone else and get racing! Since it’s a virtual race you will be able to avoid the crowds but still participate in event with other people around the world! We know that right now is a very serious time for the world and many are being affected by the Coronavirus. Our thoughts and prayers are constantly for those that have been affected and the courageous members of the medical field and first responders that are on the front lines helping out. Stay tuned in the next couple of days we will be releasing a medal in honor of those doctors, nurses and others that are fighting to keep us healthy and safe. *We have had to order more medals for this race. Sign up now and your medals will start shipping out by June 30th. (it takes 6 to 8 weeks for the medals to be produced and delivered to us and we will ship them out as soon as we get them). You can complete your race now, or wait for your gear. Totally up to you!
The majority of proceeds will be donated to charity. We will be donating at least 30% of each registration to Feeding America, who has established the COVID-19 Response Fund to help food banks across the country as they support communities impacted by the pandemic.
“Our first priority is the millions of individuals, families and seniors who rely on food banks for help,” said Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot. “Our member food banks are always there to help throughout the year and in times of disaster. This fund will advance their ability to respond efficiently and effectively in their communities so that food is not added to the list of worries for families during this pandemic.” Babineaux-Fontenot added, “We cannot do it alone.”

What: This is a virtual race. You complete a 6 Kilometer run and/or walk (6 kilometers is equal to 3.73 miles). If you need to break up the distance and do it in different segments, that is totally fine. You complete your race on your own and submit your time to us. Then we ship your medal directly to you.
When: Complete your race anytime in 2020. *We have had to order more medals for this race. Sign up now and your medals will start shipping out by June 12th. (it takes 6 to 8 weeks for the medals to be produced and delivered to us and we will ship them out as soon as we get them). You can complete your race now, or wait for your gear. Totally up to you!
*Medals and bibs will start shipping out June 30th. After that they ship out within 2 to 5 days of signing up.
Where: You choose the course and you time yourself (you’ll report your finishing time to us).
Why: To encourage social distancing and remember, “We are all in this together….but six feet apart.”
COST: $22, which includes your medal, bib and shipping. Plus, at least 30% of every entry will be donated to Feeding America *We are in no way affiliated with this charity, we like to choose a different charity for each of our races and are happy to raise funds for them.
