Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an American federal holiday that celebrates the Civil Rights leader’s life and legacy. This year it is on January 18, 2021. We are honoring MLK this year with our second annual “I Have A Dream” virtual race!
Known for delivering one of the most incredible speeches in history during the American Civil Rights Movement, among other accomplishments, things would look a lot different if it wasn’t for Martin Luther King Jr. and his efforts for achieving equality and human rights for African Americans. To honor his accomplishments, we are happy to launch our “I Have A Dream” virtual running events. This 2020 virtual race can be completed any time of the year, from anywhere, and at your own pace. The registration fee includes a race medal and bib, plus a portion of the fee will be put towards helping the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization that is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American Society. The work this organization is doing is incredible. If you want to get more of an idea of what they do, watch the movie Just Mercy.
